Wells Tobias Recruitment Ltd in Green Park, Reading, are hosting a quadruple world rowing event in conjunction with the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, part of the Compass Group. The aim is to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
As a local business we are delighted to be able to offer your organisation a unique opportunity to raise money for a wonderful cause and set a new world record in the process!
Alongside three further record attempts over the course of two days, we will be attempting to set an endurance world record of 31 hours by continuously rowing on a Concept2 indoor rowing machine at Royal Berkshire Conference Centre from Wednesday 1st October to Thursday 2nd October 2014. This beautiful venue is situated on the Madjeski Complex in Green Park, with a magnificent view of Reading’s Football Stadium in full view for you as you row.
We are seeking brave souls to join our record breaking team by committing to row for 30 minutes and become a world record holder!
Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research charity national charity and is funded almost entirely by the public. Their life saving research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease is geared towards a single purpose – to create a future free from the fear of cancer. Every penny you are able to raise as a result of your sporting prowess during this world record is an invaluable contribution towards this fight.
Venue: The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Green Park, Reading
Start Time: 10am on Wednesday 1st October 2014
Finish Time: 5pm on Thursday 2nd October 2014
We are inviting companies to bring together as many people as possible to row for 30 minutes each, help raise money for this wonderful charity and become world record breakers! The record currently stands at 24 hours and 24 seconds – with your help we intend to beat it by a whopping seven hours.
How it will work:
Each individual will row for a thirty minute slot during the world record event and try to raise as many pennies for charity as possible. You can support your employees with this donation or encourage them to fundraise themselves. We would of course play on your kindness and encourage you to match their brave fundraising efforts if possible!! We are fundraising for Cancer Research UK but if you have a charity that is close to your heart and you would prefer to support them instead with your donation then please do let us know, we’d be delighted to accommodate you.
• Wear your company branded clothing during the event for maximum PR exposure. Our previous indoor rowing event received television, radio and newspaper media coverage.
• Receive your world record signed certificate as confirmed by Concept2, the awarding body for all Great British and International indoor rowing world records.
• Have your company logo on the shirts worn by the Wells Tobias Reading Team which will be featured heavily within the local media.
